Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Kaurispring LLC, operating as CrispScribe, handles information when you use CrispScribe.

1. Information we handle

You can transcribe without creating an account. In the current browser-local mode, the audio you select, the resulting transcript and recording details are stored in IndexedDB in that browser. This content is not uploaded to CrispScribe.

If you choose to sign in, Supabase processes your email address, account identifier and, for Google sign-in, basic profile details such as your name and profile image. If you contact support, we process the information you include in that message.

Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP address, browser details and security logs, to deliver and protect the website. Your browser downloads speech-model files from Hugging Face and ONNX Runtime WebAssembly files from jsDelivr. Those requests disclose ordinary connection data to those providers, but do not include your audio or transcript.

2. How we use information

We use account information to provide optional sign-in, respond to support requests, maintain security and meet legal obligations. The browser uses your selected audio to generate a transcript and to display, export and manage your recordings locally. We do not use recordings or transcripts for advertising.

3. Service providers and processing locations

CrispScribe is hosted as a static website on Cloudflare Pages. Supabase provides optional authentication from a shared project hosted in Tokyo, Japan. That project is also used by FocusBar and NeatDone. Its shared authentication service and public profile trigger may process the same account identifier and email across those products. CrispScribe-specific database objects are separated in a crispscribe schema, but recordings and transcripts are not stored in Supabase in the current browser-local mode.

Google provides the identity flow when Google sign-in is available and you choose it. Resend delivers authentication emails when email sign-in is enabled. Hugging Face serves the Whisper model files, and jsDelivr serves ONNX Runtime WebAssembly files used by the browser. These providers may process technical, account or delivery information in the regions where they operate.

A separate Python backend and cloud-processing mode may be offered later. It is not used by this Pages version. If introduced, we will describe the providers, processing locations and data involved before enabling it.

4. AI processing

Whisper runs in your browser using ONNX. Your selected audio is decoded and processed on your device; it is not sent to CrispScribe or Hugging Face. Automated transcription may omit or misrecognize words, speakers, names, numbers and context. Review output before relying on or sharing it.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide and secure the service, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Recordings and transcripts remain in your browser until you move them to Trash or delete them. Items in Trash are permanently removed after 30 days. Because this is browser-local storage, cleanup occurs when the site is open or next loaded after that period. You may permanently delete an item sooner from Trash.

Your browser may clear or evict local data, for example when you clear site data or storage is low. CrispScribe cannot restore local recordings or transcripts that are lost this way. Account information is retained for the service purposes for which it was collected and deleted when no longer needed, subject to legal and security requirements.

6. Your choices and privacy requests

You can move a recording to Trash, permanently delete it, or export its transcript as a text file. You can sign out to end an account session. You may request access, correction or deletion of account information by emailing contact@crispscribe.com. We will verify the request and respond within the period required by applicable law.

If you are a California resident or live in another U.S. state with an applicable privacy law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information and to opt out of certain sale or sharing. CrispScribe does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not discriminate against people who exercise applicable privacy rights.

7. Cookies and local storage

CrispScribe does not require a guest-session cookie. The browser-local app stores recordings and transcripts in IndexedDB, and optional sign-in data in local storage. Cloudflare may use security cookies when needed to protect the website. No analytics provider is enabled. See our Cookie Policy for current browser storage details.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for the service, including encrypted network connections, account authentication and access controls. Browser-local recordings are not encrypted by CrispScribe; protect access to your device and browser profile. No online service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Children

CrispScribe is intended for people aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or submitted personal information, contact us so we can review the request and take appropriate action.

10. International processing

Optional authentication is processed by a Supabase project hosted in Japan. Website delivery and model downloads may be handled through provider networks in the regions where Cloudflare, Hugging Face and jsDelivr operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.

11. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the service changes. The effective date identifies the current version. If a change materially affects how account holders' information is used, we will provide notice through the service or by email where appropriate.
